This gorgeous, generous, big-hearted Renaissance femme dances, teaches dance, writes, performs, fosters queer community, and organizes queer events in the Boston area, making queer art for queer people with In the Streets Productions. In 2007, she produced the first Femme Show, a variety show that is still going strong. Maggie also makes up one half of the duo, The Society for the Preservation and Promotion of Sapphic Social Mores (SPPSSM, pronounced “spuh-possum”), and if you haven’t seen their presentation, you’re probably making etiquette mistakes hither and yon!

SPPSSM’s mission is to educate contemporary Sapphists on modern etiquette conundrums, eliminating such common social errors as pairing sandals with socks, unending break-ups, and mis-pronouncing last night’s hook up. Phyllis Troubridge and Beatrice Llwellyn of the Society for the Preservation and Promotion of Sapphic Social Mores (SPPSSM) have been edifying the queer community on good manners and social graces since 2008.
